Chef Gabriella's love for food started at a young age, with the smells of her family's bakery on the main floor wafting up the stairs to their apartment. She dreamed of opening a restaurant of her own one day, but that dream was put on the back burner as the realities of life in southern Italy set in. She instead opted for a more practical career with a doctorate in Modern Literature and Languages, Dotteressa Gabriella Pelli was intent on becoming a teacher. A trip to her cousin's wedding in Canada set her on a different course, there she met Tim. A year later they were married.
Back in Canada Gabriella decided to pursue her dream of becoming a chef. In 1995 a very pregnant, knife wielding Gabriella opened her first restaurant in downtown Fernie. Over the years Gabriella and Tim have operated many successful restaurants. Beginning with a humble "Spaghetti Jam" night in a small pub, Gabriella is now responsible for a busy restaurant, lounge, caffè and catering business and its many staff.
Gabriella and Tim have built a great reputation over the years, not only for having amazing food, but also a warm inviting atmosphere. They treat their staff with the upmost respect which is passed down to the customers through conscientious service and amazing food.

Inside this sweet Italian Mama lives a force to be reckoned with. She can outrun and outlast any young cook in the kitchen. Her hands on approach as a chef is a true inspiration. She can be found in the restaurant all hours of most days. Spending much of her childhood living on her grandparent's farm, Gabriella developed a palate for fresh ingredients and traditional Italian cooking. This has given her a true talent for making fine food. |
Tim Lapointe (aka Mr. Gabriella)
Poet, Fisherman, Musician, House Boat Mechanic and Gold Miner, Tim is more than just a Mr. Fix It with a bag of tools. He is an ideas guy. From writing jingles for the radio to organizing Rossland Trivia game show nights Tim always has ideas to make this restaurant truly unique. Whether bringing a fresh catch for the staff to eat, or a necklace made of hand mined gold for Gab, Tim is always bringing the smiles. And most importantly, he brought us Gab! |
